Hello i have new polo 2018 mpi 1.6 manual gear box
Can i upgrade engine to tsi 2.0

1.6mpi (105ps) in a 2018 Polo? You must have one of the last of the previous generation Polos, surely? The current range is 1.0TSI in a variety of outputs and the 2.0TSI for the GTI (as well as the elusive 1.5TSI EVO which is unavailable). Or perhaps you are not UK based and live in a domestic market that still has the 1.6MPI in its range?

I'm sure you could transplant a pre WLTP GTI engine into your Polo, but it would be prohibitively expensive, and electronics integration would be problenatic. You'd invalidate large proportion of your car's warranty (most, if not all of the drive train). Better (Cheaper and more straightforward) to sell of part exchange yours and get the GTI.

It would be easier and cheaper to sell that car and purchase one with the 2.00 Ltr engine. Mind you, don't expect it this year, as the waiting list is getting longer
