Hi guys sorry if ive started a new thread if ones already their but i cant find it

Right im getting stressed, so ive recently brought a 54 plate polo 1.4 tdi sport

When you start it up from cold it starts up first time in 2secs no problem but it idels asif its running on 2x cylinder and puffs out loads of blue smoke even when you rev it, but after about 2mins once its a little warm its sound as a f*#@ pound

Ive not got much money at the money so i dont wanna try this n that really just want to stop it with changing the first part etx but dont think thats gonea happen lol

Right some people say:

Injectors
Injector wiring harness
Injector seals
Glow plugs
Egr valve
Maf sensor

Basicly looking for someone who had this sane peoblem and fixed it

You can check the glow plugs in situ by disconnecting the power wires from them and measuring the resistance across the glow plug with a multi meter.
I have never tested a VW TDI glow plug but on other cars (from memory) they should read approx 0.9 - 1.2 Ohms.
Glow plugs are the easiest place to start.

Ive changed the glow plugs and changed egr valve as that was through up the eml light up and still doing it

Are you getting power to the glow plugs ?
I had one car some years ago where the glow plug control unit was not giving power to the glows,I put a multi meter onto the glow plug power leads and got a friend to turn on the ign.On the older cars that would give about 11volts to the glows if the system was operating correctly.Also the glows do not normally go 'off' when the glow plug light goes out - the glows usually stay on after start to assist the engine cold running,you would have to check how the system is supposed to operate on the Polo.

I don't know if this thread would be of any help,it is a different engine (SDI) but might give some ideas for fault finding.
Hopefully Alex will be along at some stage with some technical details.
