single button key programing

Can a key with a single button be programed? Just bought the car and the little old lady didn't like the idea of remote access so never had it done. We have 2 keys, one with a silver button the other just has the VW logo.

This has been asked in the past, and I think that I suggested that the key with the single button is only a normal key with a built in torch, so no, I'd not think that that car has any remote central locking functionality.
Open that "button" key up and I think that you will find a coin cell, a spring and a very small bulb.
