Help Needed (Rear Bumper)

Hello, I’m Ben and I’m fairly new to this forum; however I am looking for some assistance with making some changes to my VW Polo 6R 2010.

The rear bumper of my car (YR10 HFL) comes stock with no exhaust cutout or exposed tips - I am thinking about changing the exhaust/tips and I obviously need a bumper with a cutout in order for the new tips to sit correctly. Originally I was thinking about making a DIY cut in the bumper however dependant on the cost I do not know if a bumper swap would be the better solution - after some googling I have found some suggestions but am not sure if they will work with my exact car.

The suggestions have found so far explain that the Polo GTI and Polo R Line rear bumpers should be able to replace the stock one on my car - I was wondering if this was true before I go out and buy one as they aren’t exactly properly cheap (at least for a first time driver like me) If they do fit, are they a straight swap or do they require any adapters etc in order to become properly aligned with the bodywork.

My specific car model is a VW Polo 6R 1.2 Petrol S70 and the registration is YR10 HFL if this helps you to get any information that you need.

Hi Ben, as far as I know 6R gti and r-line rear bumpers fits without any problems on any 6R. I purchase a r-line bumper (not mounted yet) and did not notice any difference with standard one. Only in case you want to use a 6C rear bumper on a 6R you have to plan some further mods.
