2019 lead times

Dear All,

I want to check with people, who ordered Polo late 2018 or early 2019 about their lead times.
I have ordered a Highline 95 Hp Polo in February 2019, dealer stated that is should be shipped June/July, but I am kind of worried about these terms. As I am reading the forum, lead times strongly vary between people.

Do you have any indication, if the 4/5 months waiting time is valid? I am not the UK Customer, ordered Polo in Poland but I think that lead times in my country should be almost the same.

Thank you for your inputs

Aren't all left hand drive Polo's still made in Spain? If so I think that will make comparing with the wait times for right hand drive cars from South Africa pointless.

There are a few people on here from mainland Europe though so hopefully one of those will have some info.

Oh, my thinking was that all Polos are now made in South Africa, no matter of the driving wheel side

I ordered my Polo in the middle of February 2019 and I was told 4-5 months lead time. I have added 5 extra options too it. I still have not had a build date for it yet so I reckon it’s more like 6 months lead time the way it’s going.

Going by posts on here, lead times are completely arbitrary anyway.
VW/Dealers seem free to change them at will with a shrug of the shoulders.

I most admit if I only ordered a standard Polo I wouldn’t be happy about waiting months for it, but as I added few added on options to mine to get it how I want it I’m happily enough to wait for it.

It depends how urgent you need the new car.

Not anymore. Apparently after summer break of 2018, Polo is made only in SA.

As for OPs question, I ordered mine mid September, collected it mid March. I was to get it by the end of the year and it took almost twice as long. Though a guy at my dealership said that lead times are only going to get worse and VW is planning a substantial price increase. Propably to discourage some people from ordering to keep lead times at least reasonable. Realistically, 6 months until delivery and I wouldn't expect it sooner.

I suppose it's all about balance.
I'd think again about one or two extras if it literally made months of a difference (do I really need them...?)
Then again I wasn't totally focussed on a Polo and was more than willing to move onto another make if VW didn't have one in stock.
I'm not a patient man, some of the waits mentioned on here would drive me nuts.

It does seem if your getting your car from the factory it is a up to a six month wait at the moment. If you get it less then that it’s a bonus.

I most admit at times I’m gagging to get it but I just say to myself soon as I got it I be having it for 3 years if not longer if I decide to buy it of the finance company.

I'm surprised Portuguese people accept cars built in Spain.... :)

funny how everyone have build date and all that data. I have nothing. I oredered from Croatia, and they didn't give me any code or anything to track and recive info about my car.
