Polo GTi +

Hi there.
New to group but wanted to share the new motor with others who have the same interest.
This is my first Polo GTi and I have to admit it hasn't disappointed me, it's quick and nimble not too thirsty.
Only quarm I would say is the gear change can be very choppy going down the gears, I'm currently putting this down to me and also that the car hasn't even done 200miles yet, so we will see.
I didn't choose the winter pack but have got the nice led lights and 18" alloys with plus the back roof kit..
Thanks for reading... [emoji108]

@Vonbek2004; it looks great. In my opinion Pure White really suits the GTI and contrasts well with the red and black accents. I think it’s also one of the easier colours to maintain - easy to touch in those inevitable stone chips when they happen, and hides swirls well.
Enjoy your new car.

Thanks SRGTD.
I totally agree, when I unveiled the car at the showroom I knew straightaway it was the right colouring, I test drove a used black one and just didn't have the same feel..
Yes I am dreading those little chips, though I know friend who might be able to detail it whereby it's protected, he did tell me what it was but life if me can't remember. [emoji16]
Oh I forget to mention, driving at night adds a whole new element, the interior lighting at night is lovely, as there is a nice white glow from the passenger door handle to drivers, across the entire length of dash...

Choppy downshifts down to you? That photo looks like you've got a UK car, so it has to be DSG. Are you blaming yourself because of using manual mode? When in full auto mode, the downshifts do seem gentler than manual. I put that down to the fact that when i'm in manual mode (not often - you get lazy), I downshift earlier than auto would, to instigate some engine braking, whereas the auto gently changes when the revs drop to about 1200rpm with no load.
Our Pure White GTI+ with Brescias is coming soon, and I was a bit apprehensive because i'm not generally a fan of white cars. With a flash red GTI+ already in the household, Pure White seemed the next best colour from a fairly small and poor choice of colours VW have given us (Diamond black a PITA to maintain and keep clean, the blue isn't bold enough or bright enough for me, although I am a blue fan after having had a Lapiz Golf R and a while back, a Rising Blue Scirocco. Limestone grey looks great when it looks grey, but not a fan of the metallic beige look.
Apprehension is all gone, that looks great, first time I have seen a white GTI+ in the flesh.

I don't use manual mode very often, still getting used to the car and how it handles etc, regarding gear changes I think it might be my seating position as the accelerator is very sensitive so if I'm not sitting right it's gonna affect the changes.
Yeah I am in the UK and this is the DSG..
If you are waiting for yours to be delivered you won't be disappointed when you get it. I will say though from my opinion that the extra money for the Plus model is worth it as I feel it enhances the overall view of the car, LED lights, etc.
The digital dash gives it that added luxury feel..
Thanks, a few people have commented on the colouring, the black roof pack does make a difference.

I think i'm in the unique position of already having one and ordering another for the missus, so I've been enjoying my Flash Red GTI+ since Aug 1st 2018. It is a great car, and the GTI+ for £1600 more, makes the standard GTI look pretty poor value considering how much less standard kit it has. The new white one should be in Emden awaiting shipment to the UK, or almost at Emden, depending on which ship it is on.
My GTI+ has just been dropped off at the garage tonight to fix a fault with the digital dash - it's staying blank on about half the ignition cycles. I have a deeply asthmatic 60ps UP! Beats courtesy car.

Looks amazing. Picking mine up on Saturday (exactly the same), can't wait!
Definitely think white is the best colour for the GTI, I might be a bit biased though!

Your car looks amazing, I am happy to see photos of the GTi White with black roof combo turning up on the forum, it whets the appetite for my own arriving.
Good health to enjoy

Have never really been a fan of white cars but a white Polo GTi+ with Brescia alloys and the black pack looks so good, I would have been more than happy if my dealer had been able to snag me one that was already ordered (I'm getting a Reef blue GTi+ with standard alloys).

Re the asthmatic 60PS Up, I had a 60PS Citigo as a courtesy car last year and loved it. It's very definitely a 'slow car fast' sort of situation- you can thrash it to the red line all the time and still not be breaking the speed limit, while still getting a fairly decent fuel consumption!
And yes, the extras the Plus model gets is definitely worth it. Quick look at the price list and the extra £1,500 gets you stuff that would have cost £2,775 to add to a regular GTI!

Thanks guys..
Coming from a diesel manual it is taking me a while to get used to the whole different driving style. No gear changes etc.
I drive alot on country roads so have found the sports suspension engaged better than "normal" as normal kinda feels bouncy lol..
I'll post some more photos of anyone would be interested in seeing more??
