Turbo help?

I've just put a new 1.8 tsi lump in my polo due too blowing a rod too find the turbo has s**t its self aswell is there any bigger turbos that just drop on like golf GTI and R hell would be great as going tomorrow too pick one up from a breaking yard. Cause if I'm right the stock turbo is an is12 ??

the is20/38 turbos are pretty much a bolt on upgrade.

any thing with a ea888 gen.3 engine should fit

What model is the is20 on and what's the difference anything major

Any idea what models the is20 and is38 are on and what is need too bolt them on just going down the VW breakers tomorrow morning so anything I need I can grab while down there its been one pricey week Haha.

Mk7 golf gti use the is20

Mk7 golf R use the is38

Other cars like seat leons, skoda Octavias and audi s3s from the same age will probably have one of the two turbos.

Try get the oil lines, think they are all the same but that's the only difference.

You will need mapping to match the turbo you get.

I'm currently running a custom stage 2 map you think it would be okay so an golf GTI and R turbo should just drop on cause I know the block is the same just the internals are different between the polo and the golf

You would need mapping as the turbo will probably flow more at the same boost level so you could start running lean.

Ive got a brand new is38 waiting to fit to mine once I've got the clutch and diff sorted out.

Ive seen quite a few polos with either turbo and seeing well over 300bhp (I'm trying to get as close to 400bhp as possible fuel being the big problem)
