Gt cylinder head help

Hi,I have a 1990 gt engine with a cracked cylinder head,i took it to the shop to be tested and skimmed,the guy said it passed a pressure test but there's a crack between 1 and 2,he also said the pressure test is alot higher than the engine would normally get to so its ok,is it worth spending more money getting it skimmed and stuff?it seems silly to spend money on something that's always gonna be broke,I'm building the car for my son so I want it to be reliable, can anyone tell me where I can get another or what other heads would fit
