Hi guys.

How do you feel about VW connect? I'm not too keen about VW getting all my information such as GPS placement, drivers mode, fuel usage and so on. Can VW share it to my leasing company? My insurance company?

You are freely giving them that info, they can do what they like with it. Who knows, they may be gleaming all kinds of info from you beyond what is transparent in the app - driving style, how often you speed etc. It might be a step far for them to refuse you warranty work on the drive train because big brother knows you thrash your car.

I found the functionality to be so poor that I unplugged it.
I don't think they can legally distribute your personal information to insurance companies etc, not without your permission.
But who knows what we maybe all signed up to....do we all read all the T+Cs?
Just unplug it.

On a RHD car it's under the right hand side of the dash.
A white plug.

Thankfully here in Africa no one cares so no connected driving around these parts I use my phone with AA, works like a charm.
