My Wife's 2012 Polo 1.2 has developed a fault. The passenger front seat won't tilt forward and slide using the quick release handle on the side of the seat. I can slide the seat back and forth using the front lever at the bottom of the seat fine. I been trying to find a topic on this with not much luck. Apologies in advance if this has been asked already?

I had a look underneath the seat and have undone the upholstery from the back of the passenger seat and lifted it a little but I cannot see anything obvious. To be honest not sure what to look for. I read another VW topic about wires either becoming unattached or too slack. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I had this problem with the driver's seat on my 2017 VW Polo Match 1.2TSI. I seem to remember using the handle under the seat to slide the seat backwards and forwards vigorously a few times and this sorted out the problem. Good luck, Keith.
