Fault code P5046 or 17861

First of all I want to say hi to everybody around here and I can't believe I found such a thriving community of Polo owners!
First off for some back story... Last year I purchased a POLO 9N for what i thought it was a steal. The car was in good condition for an old lady and it ran like butter. What i didn't know back then was the fact that the power train was a little bit exotic for my country and that no shop (at least the dozen i've visited in the last year) actually knows how to service any electronic, wiring, or sensor faults. Every shop i've been to, knows how to change anything mechanically related but if by some chance i have any wiring faults they all nod their heads like this is the first car they've actually seen. So here i am...
The engine inside it is a 1.4L FSI with 86 BHP and the engine code is AXU.
When i first bought the car it had the check engine light on and the shop i took it to in order to check it out before buying it, checked the error code which was P5046 and assured me it was the lambda (o2) sensor. So i bought the part (which was also a nightmare to source) and I replaced it. The shop i changed it at, cleared the fault code and everything was running smoothly until a couple of weeks ago when i first took the car outside the city on a road trip (the car was bought strictly for driving around the city). The check engine light turned on so i decided to check the error code myself (between buying the car and now i also purchased an OBD dongle that works with Torque). The code was the same as the one before (P5046) but Torque told me it was the EGT sensor. I was a bit confused but given that it was the same code i thought it was just a fluke so i cleared it and because the car ran perfectly i just didn't give it a second thought. Before i returned home from my road trip the check engine light came back on, with the same error code so i decided to take it to a shop. The first shop i took it to told me again it was the lambda (o2) sensor but knowing that it was changed less than a year ago and that Torque is telling me that the fault is caused by the EGT sensor i decided to get a second opinion. 4 shops later and i actually found a guy that despite being convinced it was the lambda sensor accepted to dive deep and double check and finally came to the conclusion that it is indeed the EGT sensor.
The error code is P5046 on torque and on the scanner the shop had, the error code was 17861 and it read "Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1; open/short circuit to plus"
The problem is that i can't seem to locate one anywhere so I wanted to ask you guys if you by any chance know what is the exact part number and even if the code actually reflects a bad EGT sensor. Has anyone encountered this error on the 1.4 FSI? Is the error actually related to the EGT sensor?
