difficult engaging 5th gear only

Hi
My 2003 1.2 gearbox is lovely .... it snicks sweetly into and out of every gear ......except 5th.
It will however go into 5th if I "pull back .... before I push into " into 5th
No crunch or grind at all so I suspect cables or the levers ...
Anyone else solved this particular issue ???
