Repairing/extending electric window cable

Hi all,

My driver side electric window stopped working. I identified the cause of this to be a broken cable running between the car and door.

I want to extend it by soldering an extra piece between the broken ends, hopefully this will prevent it from breaking in the future. The colour of the cable is brown and is larger than most of the cables in the loom.

Can someone tell me how many amp cable I require please?

Yep, I have had to do this job.

Current carrying capacity is dictated by cable cross sectional area, and cable is sold by area, so measure what you have and make sure the additional section is the same size. Get some heat shrink tubing to finish the job.
