Hi guys. I wanted to find out where I can find the bonnet insulator (you know, that black mat under the hood's cover). The engine is very "rattly" and sounds like a diesel at lower revs especially when accelerating. I searched for so many websites and can only seem to find ones for the previous gen polo.

Here’s (a used) one;
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283424498111 ... noapp=true
I see your location is South Africa - you could contact the seller and ask them if they would ship it to you

This also annoys me to no end, they saving all of 10 dorra - just leave it in. Contemplated looking for one here in SA as well but then meh, such effort.

Or they could take the part number from that listing and see if they can order one locally - £70 seems a lot of money for one of those new or used.
So this insulation is not standard fit in SA? both our 2018 and 2019 GTI+ have these (I just checked both cars).

Noticeably missing monkeyhanger as is the ACC in SA manufactured Polo's. When I asked the sales person about this he replied "its because of our hot climate>" What b*******s!

Have you asked your local VW dealer for a price to supply that part yet, lots of times you find with a relatively new version of car, ebay sellers chance their hand on prices.
From my experience, any VW dealership can source any VW parts even if they are not normally used in "your" sales area.

My GTI has it.
I noticed 2018 P GTI models don’t have USB ports in the rear?

That's correct - it was added at model year 2019, so all PPF equipped GTI+ from October 2018 have it. My May 2018 built GTI+ doesn't have them, but the wife's March 2019 built GTI+ does.

I went to a nearby VW dealer and they told me to go to the original dealership where I purchased the car and find out why it had not been installed. They checked on their system using my VIN and it was meant to be installed. It's probably a quality check issue from their side. But I'll go find out tomorrow. They'll probably end up defending themselves by saying that someone stole it

I’d go back to the nearby VW dealer who checked on their system and told you it should’ve been installed and get them to order one and fit it under warranty at no cost to you.
