Completely inconsequential, I know, but why might the interior with of the GTI (1446 mm) be 21mm more than regular Polo (1425 mm)? Other than a typo in documentation.

From what I’ve seen the door cards are identical.

perhaps to accommodate thicker seat belts to keep occupants restrained while braking from a high speed run on the autobahns? XD

No idea mate but guess I'll have to get out the old tape measure and see for myself.
