Hi All,

Got a strange problem with my VW Polo 1.2 E 2006.

The heater on the driver side does not get warm but the passenger side is warm? I sometimes get slightly Luke warm air after the car has been running for some time from the driver side but the passenger side is red hot!!

I replaced my thermostat today as it was faulty however, still getting the same problem after the thermostat replacement.

Any ideas? would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I'm sure that this was happening with my wife's previous 2002 Polo 1.4 16V 75PS nearer the end of its time with this, I just put that down to some foam sealing material breaking off the flaps on the heater box, as well as maybe some off the main flap so letting past too much unconditioned outside air to one side more than the other.

Edit:- or even a seal missing/broken between the passenger cell and engine area.

Thanks for your response RUM4MO

Any ideas on how to replace the flaps? are they easy to get to?

No, sorry none at all, I never got beyond finding it annoying, doing anything with the temperature and air direction flaps will mean opening up the heater box which is best avoided.

Maybe bending up and getting up close with the heater box might yield some clues/ideas.
