It's a performance VW thing - Golf GTI only has GTI badging, GTD only has GTD badging, R (not to be confused with R-line trim) only has R badging.

I've returned to my car catching it being admired on two occasions by passers by who were trying to figure out what car it was.
I quite like that.

The lack of Polo badging being on the GTI has confused a few people I know looking at my car when I told them it was a Polo.
Just the other day while I was up at my mother's, she was driving it, a neighbour popped over and asked her, "new car?" She explained it was mine and they made a comment about it being a nice looking Golf, "is it the new one?". Once explained it was the Polo they couldn't believe it as it was "too big to be a Polo."

I think I'm going to take the POLO badge off my SEL when I get it, I'm sure it'll confuse the hell out of most people

I might just buy golf badge and put it on trunk... just to confuse hell lot of people
// To be honest I was seriously thinking about replacing all gti badges with r-line and sticking something like 1.0mpi on trunk to confuse all that young Aholes in their old diesels

That could happen, a lot of people when saw my car thought, because of the size, that was a Golf...
