Those lights as you put it are blanks on the GTI+ as you’ll have the LED headlights. When you have standard headlight they would be you daytime running lights.
Can’t answer the NAV question but have you thought about just using your phone via the infotainment screen? Probably more up to date than any NAV system factory fitted.
Hope this helps.

As sc-red has said, the outer sections of the light clusters in the lower front bumper are blanks. They’re the DRL’s on models without LED headlamps, but if you’ve got LED headlamps, your DRL’s are inside the headlamp unit.
Using the same lower bumper light units on the GTI+ as the rest of the Polo range, even though the outer section isn’t used, is likely to represent a production cost saving to VW compared to having a different version of this light unit for cars equipped with LED headlamps.
@rm55mcc; as a matter of interest, why did you only keep your Fiesta ST for eight weeks? If we were to believe what we read in the motoring press, the Fiesta ST is the best small hot hatch money can buy, so it would be good to hear your views on how it compares to the Polo GTI+ and why you sold yours after such a short period of ownership.

Well that answers my questions thanks
Well were do i start , i had 1.8t Polo Gti manual which i loved, but it had a drink problem so i sold that on after a few years and bought a mk7.5 fiesta St 1.6T which was a cracking car , should have kept it really as it had very low miles on it , but as soon as mk8 st came out i had to have one , so i waited on the one i wanted with the Performance Pack which had the diff and launch control etc so off i went and bought it lol after few weeks new i had made a mistake .. yeah its quick and handles well but when you take the wife’s Audi q3 over the St most days i new it had to go... St didn’t want to go straight pulled all over the place .. Michelin Super-sport tyres that came with the car , terrible in the wet and in ireland all does is rain lol so i swapped them out for Michelin PS4’s .. made it a bit happier to live with.. 3 doors was an issue as well as i have 1yr old son only so many times you can bang your head so enough was enough .. Off i went to Vw test drove polo gti+ in red ( love red cars) Dsg , digital display, 5 doors , comfy , quicker than The St

deal was done . Enjoy being back in Vw . Not having worry about the engine going bang ( mk8 St engine leak always wondering if mine was one off the unlucky cars )
Loving the Polo gti so far , such a lovely place to be

@rm55mcc; Thanks for the background on why you got rid of the mk8 ST. I thought I recognised your forum name from a while back on the previous generation Polo forum board.
I still have my previous generation 1.8 GTI - I’ll have had it four years at the end of this month, and it’s just sailed through its MOT. It’s been a great car, and has only been back to the garage for servicing and MOT’s since I got it.
I normally keep my cars 4-5 years and I’m beginning to get itchy feet and quite fancy upgrading to a GTI+. Funnily enough, in the last few days, I received an invite to a ‘special’ VIP only event at the local VW dealer with ‘extra special discounts’ available to those VIP customers who’ve received an invite. I normally just throw these things in the recycling bin but I’m almost curious enough to pay the dealer a visit! I doubt they’ll be able to better the current Carwow 16.2% discount, including the VW contribution (surprisingly, better than Drive the Deal’s 15.6%). No harm in asking though!
