It does have T-Cross styling cues at the front. Exterior door handles look like those used on the previous generation Polo, as do the cup holders in front of the DSG selector / lever. The position of the rear reflector strips quite high up on the rear bumper looks a little strange IMO.
I wonder if the dashboard is an indication of what the Polo hatchback will be getting when it gets its mid life facelift (next year or the year after?). The mk8 Golf has an iPad style infotainment screen, so maybe that’s VW’s latest signature style for dashboards.

I actually wouldnt mind if the Hazrads button was closer to the driver, I find the stretch awkward when needing to activate but not so sure if I like the Golf 8 aircon swipey system and hope it isnt carried over to the facelift Polo. That said I do like the flat touch panel headlight "buttons" on the Gof 8 and hope that carries over.

I personally don’t like the touch panel for headlights. In fact, I’m not a fan of touch panels / touch screens in general in a car. They’re probably here to stay though, as they’ll be cheaper for car manufacturers to use than conventional buttons, switches or knobs, as touch panels / touchscreens don’t have any moving parts. I doubt they’ll be cheap to replace though if the customer has to pay for a new touch screen, if or when it fails outside the warranty period!
Back to the touch panel for headlights; IMO it’s much less easy and more of a distraction (and so less safe) to use a touch pad while driving than the existing conventional rotary light switch. The current rotary switch can be operated solely by touch and feel, whereas to use a touch panel, there’s a good chance you’d need to look at the panel to find the part of the panel you need, diverting your eyes away from the road ahead while you’re doing this.
But as said, they’re probably here to stay, and it’s not just VW who're using them - pretty much all car manufacturers are.

Actually the Polo AW sedan already exists in Brazil, and it's called Virtus:

Yes, looks quite good for a small saloon / sedan; looks quite Audi-like from the rear.
Forum member OomStu_ZA posted a link to autobild magazine website a couple of months ago that included a photo gallery of the GTS version of the Virtus. Link to that discussion thread below;

Me too, but if it was available in the UK I don’t think I’d buy one as I prefer the practicality of a hatchback car.
