Hi,

I just bought a 2017 MK5 Facelift Polo R-Line, its a truly amazing car, however in the infotainment system on the menu it doesn't have the App-Connect option. I would like to add Apple CarPlay however I need the App-Connect option. I know you have to pay for it but I thought you could buy it online now with the vehicles VIN and then it gives you a code to enter in the App-Connect option.

If you don't have the app connect option then unfortunately you don't have the right hardware.

So you need to go down the route of changing the unit and possibly the usb socket and wiring

You will need a media main unit with Apple CarPlay om it, bit inside the glove box changed out, see this if you have this cable a simple mod will make it work as I have proved it on mine
