GTI Towbar

Just to add my two cents to this post as I'm currently looking into having one fitted to my 2019 GTI+

All aftermarket towbars won't fit the GTI or are labeled as excluding GTI models. This is because, as already discussed, the valance on the GTI gets in the way and has to be cut if you do indeed want to fit one.

There are 2 official tow bars from VW for this gen polo but I'm getting mixed reports from various VW dealers. Model 2G0092150 and 2G009213 are both in the polo brochure with one dealer saying it fits all models and another dealer saying it excludes the GTI. If the official tow bars from VW also have the same issue as third-party ones where the valance has to be cut then I don't know why you wouldn't just go with a fixed towbar from a third-party and save yourself some cash. That saved cash could then be used towards buying a spare valance if and when you need to return the car to stock.
