Hi all,
Looking to do a bigger brake upgrade on my GTi but not willing to spend £1000 on a Tarox or Racing line set up. (Lockdown Life)
I have heard from people that MK1 Cupra R Calipers should fit without any additional brackets.
I know that when doing the conversion i will need the carriers, pads and discs. Already looking at braided lines and better fluid.
Any info or even maybe even a better solution would be very helpful.
Thank you,

Front or rear?
At the front you can screw on any 5x100 set from the VW group like the earlier Audi TT and Golf 4 based cars.
I think you can go up to 334mm. Remember to take calipers and carriers from the same model.
I'm running 312x25mm from Audi TT 3.2 at the front.
On the rear, you can get 272mm solid discs from S1 or 256/254mm ventilated discs.
You can fit anything that comes with 5x100 AND is FWD. Quattro/4-motion caliper carriers will not fit.
So Leon Cupra stuff will fit, Golf 4 GTI Jubi will fit (FWD) and Polo R WRC will fit.
With complicated adapters can you can probably also fit some stuff from Porsche but that's beyond my knowledge.

yeah can be easily fitted. you need the complete setup, pads, discs and get some flexi lines with polo car end and brembo the caliper end as they are different to stock

Ok cheers.
Will keep this in mind.
I was told that the 2000 to 2005 Mk1 Cupra R
Front Calipers and carriers are a strait fit and no additional brackets are required.
I am currently watching a cheap set i might buy, but at the same time dont want to end up heading down a expensive road with hidden surprises.
Thanks,

Cheers,
Was more worried about the additional bits i would need to fit them.
I am going to do braided lines and uprated fluid. Will look into aftermarket Pads and Discs.
Thank you for the info,

as i said you will have to get braided lines made to fit not just off the shelf polo ones.
i run brembo HC discs and ebc yellow stuff pads.
i'd also upgrade the rear to 256mm vented rears as the rear does go light under heavy braking imho (i have upgraded the rears)

Will keep this in mind. Can only imagine what a feeling that is.
