I really don’t like the mk8 Golf, but IMO, that does look a little better than the Golf.
I still prefer the current Polo though.

The front bumper inserts on the sides remind me of fish gills.

Agreed. Looks slightly better than the Golf.
Shame they've ruined the interior as well... with that clown looking steering wheel.
