Front VW badge removal

I can't remember for sure what I did but I managed to undo all the clips and realised that the badge is infact connected to a black plastic rim when then connects to the grille itself. Now I'm thinking, either the red circled clips are the one to the badge and that is all that is needed to remove it but removing all carefully shouldn't affect the grille or the badge itself. Just remember to do it carefully...!
Any probs drop us another posting and I'll actually go out and check myself. Good luck, makes a big difference those black badges, best £11 spent ever! ha ha ha!
