My partner has a Beats Polo 1.0TSI 3 cylinder engine 69 plate. Is this something that tomorrow morning I should be giving VW a ring to ask whether we’re affected?

You can check on the gov.uk website if a vehicle is subject to any safety recalls. However, if it’s a very recent recall, I suppose there’s a chance the gov.uk website may not have been updated to include this recall yet.

Additionally, if your partner’s car is one of the affected vehicles, they should receive a safety recall notice through the post.
