Brightened my morning up - had to have me cat put down yesterday 17 and a half years of company and a near constant alibi for oil stains on the carpet, kitchen floor or furniture - I'll get all the blame now

Thats alright - it's just how I read it first time - I'm gutted cos now I know the oil/grease/dirt marks on the carpet are gonna be down to me and I've had a bollocking free 17 years where the cats always been blamed for it cos she knows it keeps me company outside when I'm working on the cars...

Downsides regarding her help and assistance

She couldn't tell the difference between a 6mm socket and a 36mm one

She couldn't pick one up and pass it anyway (allthough she has been know to push and extension bar my way)

She always climbed on you at the most awkward moments - like when your dropping a gearbox onto you chest

Upsides were

If anything was spilt on the floor or drive you could guaruntee a swift clean up as she rolled in anything - antifreeze - oil - grease - copaslip (now that time was funny!!!)

You new when it was tea time as the level of attention rose exponentially

She sounded like a really nice Cat mate. You must be quite upset. I've got a dog, had him for 12 years now. Would not like to think of how I would be if he went..... not nice. You have my sympathy. Do you think you would get another?

I'd get another but only if it could tell the difference between a 6mm and a 35mm socket

Seriously I think not - had two for nearly 20 years - one died year before last and now I've lost my remaining one....... I'll stick with happy memories

always a downer when a pet, especially a very close one, bites the dust. or in my case breathes the bleach (poor little fishy, im sorry! )

im worried for my uncle's partner, she's got a magificent doberman bi.tch called jade who's been her closest pal for the last 13 or so years...... only now jadeys got stomach cancer or something and won't eat. gone from looking fantastic even for her age and an animal i'd be terrified of if she wasnt soft as a custard pie, to a walking bag of bones its like looking at a skeleton with a thin fur coat on.

she's not got many days left and poor hel's going to be a wreck when the end comes... not to mention her kids (who they havent dared let on to yet that one of the guinea pigs isnt the same one as a couple weeks ago)

Yeah putting pets down hurts, i had to put my dog down not long ago, i had had him all my life (17 years ) but he was getting an old boy (he was a cream alsation (short haired) but wouldnt hurt a fly (unless it snapped at him)
Which reminds me bout the time this rat-like terrier snapped at his nose... This is a terrier taking on an adult alsation he opened a can of woopass on this terrier, owner was a complete ******* aswell.
putting him down (he had some joint thing in his hip that working dogs get) was the worst thing i have ever had to do but you will get over it... eventually

for all my reservations about rovers, i *would* f***ing want some of that

Reservations about rovers, fair enough, but that's no excuse to be reserved about MG's.. they're completely different machines, they just happen to be in a rover shell most of the time. My dad had a ZS180 as a demonstrator from MG for a couple of weeks a while ago.. bloody hell did that thing shift! The suspension was set up well enough that we could have just driven to a track and raced it as it was, and you would have thought it had a good 50bhp more than it actually had, it moved so fast..
I'm just a bit sad that rover's doing so badly financially.. a bit more money and they could have some seriously decent cars coming from MG..
