Hi everyone, I own a 1.6 tdi polo and recently the glow plug light has come on flashing, When i turn the engine off/on again the lights disappear then other times the engine light comes on with the glow plug light and sometimes goes into limp mode when driving. A colleague of mine has a fault checker and i got the codes -
P040300 - Exhaust gas recirculation circuit - passive/sporadic
P245500 - Diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor circuit high - passive/sporadic
Can someone advise me the best route to get these sorted and prevent any further issues, Thanks!

Im guessing your EGR or/and DPF filter is clogged

EGR coolers are not a uncommon failure point which would lead to the second code .

I have looked at a remap service which also offer an egr close if I was to get this and buy a new dpf sensor does anyone know if this would clear my issue? Thanks

If the EGR is physically broken (i.e. the valve is stuck or the cooler is leaking coolant internally) then a remap without further modifications will not solve the problem.
The DPF sensor is a cheap part and replacement is easy. It's not a guaranteed fix, but odds are not bad.

I gather would it be best to have a garage do this? As I’ve read you need vcds to re calibrate the new dpf sensor?

Yes, the sensor needs to be adapted. Simple job but needs a diagnostic tool.

Could any diagnostic tool do it the typical plug in and check or does it need to be a more advanced one? Thanks
