Wing mirror caps!

2004 5dr 9n 1.9tdi.
Long story short having to replace my driver's side thanks to an idiot in an Audi
Now I got the replacement in primer, gonna paint myself for some entertainment. The replacement looks identical, roughly looks the right fit but physically will not fit(plastic tabs preventing fitting i think)
Shop I bought from is adamant it's correct? Am I missing something here? Any help would be super appreciated
