It has become apparent that at this present time there is a scam going on regarding the sale of cars to overseas buyers.
These buyers will respond to any advert, and can communicate quite well in English. All the proceedings for the sale will go to plan, but its only when payment is cashed, that the cheque bounces, and by this time it is often too late, as your car is already making it abroad.
Be wary of any emails from overseas buyers, and be especially wary if they mention a friend/family member has a shipping business, as this is how the buyer will entice you, as you don't have to pay the shipping costs.
It only occurred to me the scale of this when I noticed a post on porka about it, and I have spoken to other people sharing similar experiences with this scam.
