Has anyone had a go at swapping the factory aerial mast with a short stubby beesting aerial?

Just looking for some feedback on any impact to DAB radio reception, and which mast to buy??

Can I simply unscrew my existing mast - had a try earlier today but it is seriously tight and i’m worried not to break anything.

I’ve got one similar to the one in the photo you posted the only reason I changed it was because the original mast was making contact with the maxton spoiler extension, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered changing it. In regards to radio reception it doesn’t effect the dab quality however it does effect the fm very slightly if you listen to pirate radio stations you’ll notice it very slightly. But other stations like kiss heart smooth radio etc you won’t notice any difference. Also with fitting I had to cut part of the fitting adapter they supplied by about 6mm. When removing my old mast it came of with a simple twist by hand, I’m guessing if it’s hard to remove then hold the base firmly and unscrew using pliers. Hope this helps you or anyone else interested in changing their Aerial mast.
