Replace Halogen headlights by LED

Hello everyone,
I write because I'm thinking of retrofitting my halogen headlights by LED. I am thinking of replacing by OEM ones. I would like to know if there is anything else to buy apart from the headlights themselves. I have checked some videos and the replacement seems straightforward and easy to do.
Also, I guess some coding is needed for the replacement. Could you guide me on what to use for the coding..? Could I use an app as OBDeleven PRO, or would I need the ODB2 cable with VCDS..? I'm a little confused by this. I've also seen already what is needed to change by coding (e.g. https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=75470), but I have never done any coding, so I have some doubts about it.
