2019 Polo SE Fuse box location?

Hi all

I just replaced my old 9n3 after 15 years for the 2019 SE (UK RHD). I'm taking my Nextbase dashcam over to this one. I took the power for the dashcam from piggybacking a fuse and the fuse box was between the driver side of binnacle and door on the 9N3. I have seen some YT videos about the 2019 Polo and although there seems to be the same flap there, the fuses are not behind it.

Checking the book that came with it seems to indicate a RHD polo has the fuses behind the glovebox and you have to empty it of any contents and remove it for access.. other similar (2019) Polos on YT seem to indicate it is to the right of the steering column and you pull a panel off to get behind it. I have seen this below in my car and have tried to pull it away but it hasn't been forthcoming.. Is the fuse box really behind this panel

or really behind the Glovebox?

appreciate your help.

My one is to the right of the steering column, behind the plastic trim panel.

The one you pictured, the welly shaped bit of plastic. Pull it from the edge exposed on the steering wheel column side. It's held with a few spring clips.

Hi what fuse number did you use for this.
What does it supply.
I used the 12v socket fuse but the dash cam comes on when I open just the boot.
Thanks.

Hi Clubchamp98

According to my manual this 20A fuse is for cigarette lighter socket supply and in fact with a piggyback fuse holder used to feed the dashcam, it does operate with the ignition in power position. I will admit i haven't tried opening the hatch yet but on my last Polo the dashcam did operate when closing the hatch but found out that that was a function of the dashcam thinking it was a light collision LOL.. I turned that function off.

see attached jpg with arrowed fuse.. just above, top left corner, of the pale green relay with 644 printed on it.

Is this the fuse location you have used too?

ps.. for some reason my attachment is not uploading or showing... something about forum reached its limit..
