Hi I got my polo in April :

I’ve not driven it much at night or in the rain but I’m having some problems and don’t know what to do,

When I switch my headlights on the high beam light comes

My oil light has come on, what type of oil will be best for it?

And my back windshield wiper has come loose so it’s wiping but hanging down if I switch it on, can I do something to fix that?

Headlight high or main beam coming on when you switch the headlight on, does operating the stalk on the steering column change it back to dip only, and then back to main or high beam? Does the flash function work when the ignition is on and the headlights switched off?

Engine oil, if it is a petrol engine use a VW 502 OR 504 rated 5W-40 if TDI with PD, then use an oil suitable for VW PD engines.

Rear wiper, if the complete assembly loose, ie the arm and shaft, if so you need to remove the trim panel from the rear hatch and take a look at what you see in there.

If this is your first car, maybe consider buying a Haynes Repair manual as it will ease you into working on it quite a bit.
