Engine oil temperature indication in MFD

My car has a Maxi Dot IC (retrofitted) and CBZB engine.

My IC used to have the option under the MFD settings to show the engine oil
Picture from internet for reference

After recent oil change during annual service this option disappeared. I do my oil changes with annual fixed intervals.

Does anybody know how to code this option back ?
Current long coding of my IC is

Code: Select all

121A00

I'm guessing that you used your official Skoda dealership to carry out this service, and they have found an update to your car's S/W - and so downloaded the latest version and that has ignored and wiped out any changes that you have made to the car's settings.

I'd expect that you have recorded all the changes that you have made to that car's programming, so just refer back to that and add back in these changes.

Yes the service was done on Skoda dealer, but I never made any special settings to get this info in my IC.

I used the adaptation settings that came with the IC , I never changed them and I don't have a backup of the adaptation before the service.
So that's why I open this thread, in case someone else in here has gone through this process for their Polo and have some info on the steps.

The coding for the IC in my wife's 2015 Polo will not be of any use to you as it is a later 6C version of Polo and that has a long string of numbers in its coding.

Is there not another module that needs to be recoded as that MFD is only showing a list of enabled parameters, I'm a bit vague on that but I have added functions to my other car and that involved changing codings in more than one module.

For what it worths, my long coding on the engine has not changed since I have bought the car till today. I don't know about adaptation channels that dealer might have changed. Me I have not touched them at all.

All info I can find on Internet about this option disappear is about the dealer charging the car configuration to fixed service intervals VS extended service intervals.

If this is a PQ car:

The cluster needs to be told there is an oil sensor available. If this has been disabled the cluster won't show anything.

Using VCDS go to 17-Instruments and choose Adaptation channels. There look for a channel with "TOG" in its name and make sure the oil sensor is enabled there.

Thank you so much for the replies.

I will test the change next time I get access on the car and post results here.
