Hi guys, does anyone of you know where aftermarket piston ring sets and crank shell bearings can be purchased for a Polo 1.2 litre 12 valve 3 cylinder engine? I know that VW class this engine as 'non rebuildable/disposable' I have seen others who have successfully rebuilt the bottom end and re-ringed these engines but just wondering where the rings and bearing shells were purchased.

No idea where you might find bottom end shells. I've heard of rings being done. You'd probably have to go to an engineering shop. Is it worth it compared to a replacement lower mileage bottom end? I'd be wary that something might move after fitting new shells and they you are back to square one.
