Does anyone know how much is involved to change the trim surrounding the stereo and heater controls?
This photo is from my good car, in the other one the soft touch finish is coming off.

I did the same job using a replacement from eBay. It was a straightforward job (just a few bolts I think). Be careful with clips that might snap.
