Hiya! Came home after a couple of weeks away and found my Polo dead. I jumped it and drove around for a bit to get the battery charged. Then I needed to stop for some petrol and it wouldn't start again. Nice man helped me to jump it again at the pump and when I started driving again the yellow steering light came on and I lost power steering.

I'm not great with engines, so I'm just wondering if there's some easy things to check before I ultimately have to bring it to the mechanic.
