Cabin fan only runs on speed 4, suspect the resistor pack, this happened again in January, resistor pack replaced under warranty, so this means two have packed up since new car, January 2019. Is this indicative of fan motor problem or is it a known fault in these models?.

I suppose it couldnt hurt to check the fan motor.

Or the pollen filter

Get it done under warranty as my fan stopped working in July it’s a common problem

Hope it doesn't happen every year or two like mine, seems to be easily accessible though from passenger footwell.

Renewed pollen filter a few days ago, was able to spin fan impeller very freely with two fingers so no problems there.

And, in case of any confusion, the car resistor has been replaced twice so on its third one now.

Not much difference in these two models, resistor pack in the 2005 Polo is original.
