Polo AW - General car feature questions

Hello experienced Polo AW people.
So I went from a very old 20+ year car without turbo to this new Polo AW -2018. And there are some new "feature" im not familiar with from my very old car.
1. I noticed the car has very low engine break, I assume this is normal since Turbo car suppose to have lower compression and hence lower engine break? And also maybe new technology make it more efficient so it can roll in gear more easily?
2. I noticed its not possible to stall this car.
So on my 20+year car when rolling very slowly in que without using the gas pedal and clutch it would stall the engine and the motor would die. But on this new polo, even if I dont press the gas pedal it slowly roll forward in both 1 and 2nd gear. I assume this is normal? maybe it some function connected to the ACC?
I was also very suprised the ACC works without me pressing the gas pedal.
So I just want to check if all theese functions are normal, because as I said I come from a 20+ old car and I dont really know what new cool feature been developed during theese times.
