Hi all, I have Discover Media Navigation and I can't find a radio/music mute button either on the steering wheel or unit like my last car. On my last car I could quickly mute on the steering wheel. Now I have to manually use volume control to turn it down. Is there something I am missing and can't see anything in car manual about it. Ta

There’s no mute button. My 2016 previous generation Polo GTI with the older MIB 2 infotainment unit had a mute button at the side of the screen and my mk6 Golf had one on the steering wheel. My 2020 Polo GTI+ doesn’t have a mute button. I’ve also seen the same question asked on a Golf forum. The current (mk8) Golf doesn’t have a mute button either.

Thanks SRGTD. A backward step indeed. A strange oversight considering the modern technology in the car. Mind you at least we still have buttons unlike mk 8 golf!

I can't check now my Polo is long gone, but if you have a phone button (with no phone connected) or a voice control button on the right hand side cluster of buttons on the steering wheel, these usually act as a mute on VAG cars and definitely did on my MK7 Golf.

That no longer works monkey. When I pressed the voice control on my polo it just beeped and said not activated. Same on my Tiguan except it now says I can purchase it online.

Same here. I gave it a go but just says voice not active. Seems a daft omission to me.

Yes that's what I had in my last car and I miss how handy it was. Gone now on my GTi+ with the upgraded Discover Media Navigation sadly. Space taken by ACC controls.
