Choosing new wheels & Induction Kit

Hi thought i would through this out to fellow Gti owners, thinking about changing my wheels ( I love the style just too small!!) i seen RS Audi wheels and think they look really nice, but futher ideas would be great.
Also thinking of adding an induction kit, how easy is it to fit and which brand?

Hmm...I've been thinking the same about my alloys, more so now that I've totally wrecked one of them!
I've always like the look of those OZ superleggeras in that gunmetal finish (would look good with the black paintwork!) but BBS also appeal to me as I wouldn't mind keeping the car looking pretty stock to me...was looking for some BBS RXII split-rims...16" though! Can't find any anywhere, none on ebay or in any breakers yards! (they only came on the Golf Cabriolets as far as I am aware). Some of the other BBS look sweet to, the RC's are a personal favourite, found on the Golf Anniversary models.
Best to check out some sites and see what floats your boat! As for the induction kit, I'm not really one to advise you...check out some other postings...

I saw some nice wheels in my local wheel shop, dunno who made them, they were the same style as the bbs gti wheels, they were a shiny dark grey colour with a small polished dish. think they were 17's tho, 16's would look good.
i think most ppl go 4 BMC induction kits on there gti's

Yeah, I'd go for the BMC too. Haven't heard anything bad about them yet! I'd have one meself, just I'm trying to sort out the exterior with a little subtle color-coding first lol.
As for wheels... what about Mille Miglia T12s? They look mint
and you can get them in 15" thru to 19" inclusive (wouldn't really want to go bigger than 17" tho). And they defo come in 6n2 fitments as I had a look on the Mille Miglia webby.

BMC is what i've got on my GTi and its the nuts. Took me bout 10 mins to fit so there should be no problems there.
As for wheels, i've been casually looking at some but need to save up money over the winter. If you get some new wheels, i don't see the point in getting them so soon before winter. All that nasty weather and harmful grit is something i wouldn't want my new shiney wheels to go through.

they are well nice but you carn't get them in 16". 15 or 17
the lenso CF's are really nice and you can get them in 16"
As for the induction kit, BMC rocks!!!! it works better if you move it tho!

Ive just put 16" bbs rx wheels on my car with toyo 195/45 tyres they rub like f u c k on full lock! got massive burn mark on inner wheel arch! but they look so much better than the standard wheels!
cant see how you ppl with 17" wheels have got the things on!

I've also been looking,
if you're going to go for 16s, you could try Borbet design A, E or T, bearing in mind that you'll have to screw arround with the offset to get that cool deep dish look
If you've got serious cash then a set of Kerscher KCS rims would look cool as pants.
They're doing a limited re-run on Ronal LS Designs, they're only 15s but IMO they're the coolest wheel every made for a vw..
If it's black and you're lowering it, then the Ronal R10 (Turbo) looks quality every time.
Oh, and if you're wanting 17s (why would you?) then it'll have to be arch liners out and living with crap in your engine bay...
That's my 10 pence worth for now... I'm sure there must be more

Why not go for the original BBS RX2 GTi wheels, only in 17"s?
I would if I had the £1,200 that I got quoted!

Hmm...yes 17" would be nice but I'm worried about the ride quality and the scrubbing/rubbing...16" should fit with little or no modifications to the wheel inner covers...

I've got 17inch RS4 style alloys and have the car lowered roughly between 30-40mm.
I have kept the linings in (cut two small squares out) and only have rubbing when i hit speed bumps at around 30 mph, or if there are fat buggers in the back.
i would say if you can get a hold of the RS4 wheels buy them, as they look real good on the car and not very many people have them.

How did you manage to get the linings out? I may have to resort to doing this myself if I can't get the wheels on without rubbing...

What about keskin kt-1's, I think these are great. If i could get half decent money for mine I would buy them!!!

If you bought a Pipercross or a K&N 57i or something similar it won't be shielded from the heat generated by the engine, therefore you actually lose power by having the induction kit on the car! Mind you, you still get the induction "roar"...
The BMC kit is shielded by a carbon heat shield, therefore the heat of the engine doesn't affect it and you get better performance.
