Rear light upgrade

Hi, are these lights standard on the GTI? Just want to check before I consider buying.

The lights at the link you posted are certainly the same style as the standard GTI tail lights. However, I don’t think they’re the same colour. When VW used to produce model brochures, the GTI’s tail lights were described as ‘darkened’ - see below;

Here’s my GTI showing the actual colour of the standard ‘darkened’ rear light clusters;

The lights in the advertisement at the link you posted are described as ‘Black Line’ and IMHO they look quite a bit darker than the GTI’s standard tail lights. You can’t actually see the reversing light section on the ‘Black Line’ version, whereas you can on the GTI’s standard rear lights. Here’s the picture of the ‘Black Line’ version from the advert to compare with the rear lights on my car;

You could ask the eBay seller for clarification - they are a VW dealer (Listers VW, Worcester), so they should know or at least be able to check for you if the items they’re selling are the same as the GTI’s version - both functionally and colour-wise.
