Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this.

I’ve recently purchased a second hand 2002 1.4 VW Polo as a small run around for my mum.

I have noticed a few small problems and potential issues.
(Please see attached clips)

1) Before turning the ignition the EPC and Engine warning light come on (Amber) and stay on until the engine is started then disappear. Is this something to be worried about?

2) After starting the ignition a noise (similar to grinding a gear / missing a gear) is made, then returns to normal. Where is this coming from and should I be concerned?

If anyone could offer any advice/tips, would be greatly appreciated!

1 .As per your picture this is normal operation and just the car doing a self test.
2 .Could this noise be the starter motor failing/noisey ? is difficult to tell without hearing it , video ?
