Maxton design or other splitters, diffusers and spoilers.

Post by ad_182_uk »

Anybody bothered fitting any of these and have pictures? Maxton have about 6 splitter variants as well.

Not really seen any that take my fancy, best thing I have found is a from
VW themselves that appears to be a spoiler that was designed for non gti models without the little black spoiler (although can be fitted to a gti if you take the orginal one off)

I've got the Race Design package fitted. In my opinion (slightly biased I supposed) it's the best looking one. Went for the Splitter, Diffuser & Spoiler.

There is a Japanese, I think, iSweep(?) diffuser which does look good but costs a fair whack.

By the looks of it they aren't operating as a business any more which is a shame. Might be able to find the parts on other sites though.

Spoiler isn't pictured there, added it a few months later.

Splitter and diffuser look alright without being OTT. Race design website has shut down yeah.

Rieger front splitter looks good from what i have seen, then theres a subtle diffuser on ebay for like £90 or less when ebay doing offers.

What was the spoiler? One of those stick on ones? From the close-ups i have seen on all of those they don’t quite sit flat which would worry me that it’s going to fling off!

The spoiler was also Race Design. Tbh it doesn't really add that much to the car, looking back it probably wasn't worth adding. I'll try and post some pictures later today.

Its been stuck on for a while now, still feels solid and hasn't flown off!

How did you fit the front splitter on? From what I can see it's difficult to screw into the bumper at all which is putting me off fitting the splitter.

Mine is a 19 plate GTI. Not sure if the news one are different but there is enough room to screw it on. The Race Design instructions recommended self tapper screws. I think mine has about 6-8. Never had any issues and still feels very secure to this day. I’ve attached some pictures, hard to get a good picture so hope these help a bit.
