Weird Door Lock problem, Polo 6R

Post by holiday »

Hi All, hope you alright. Greetings from a new user.
English is not my first language so I hope you have got no problem in reading mine.

I got a Polo 6R 2010, and the door locking mechanism is behaving weirdly.
I could unlock/lock with a key fob remote, I could lock the door (and activating the central lock) by turning the actual key in the key hole,
however when I turn the key to unlock the door (mechanically could open the door), there would be no response to unlokcing the Central Lock and alarm serin would blow when I get in the car. I would have to turn the alarm off by the remote.

I did try to replace the door actuator module, still no luck. So puzzled. :roll:
What would possibly go wrong? Wiring Loom or BCM? Relays or Fuses?

Thanks in advance.

@holiday; welcome to the forum.

I think what you have described is the way it should work when you unlock the car manually using the key in the driver’s door keyhole, rather than using the key fob buttons to unlock it remotely;
  • only the driver’s door will unlock, not all the doors.
  • opening the door will set off the alarm. Inserting the key into the ignition and turning the key to switch on the ignition should stop the alarm sounding.
The information at the link below relates to the Golf but it is also relevant to the Polo. Hope this helps;
