Software update 91CL and how do I get rid of the "maximun privacy" message?

I have had this message on screen at start up for for months. I have to cancel it every time. The car has had its first service recently, at which I told them to sort this annoying issue out or at least explain how I could do so. They failed to do so. I naively thought that the "campaign Number 91CL software update to the onboard control unit" would have solved the issue. (exactly what was the update for anyway?)

The workshop manual does not explain how to change the settings to get rid of the message (Privacy Settings page 166) Many pages go on about "privacy" which are a nightmare to understand.

So how do I "change it in the control centre" (which isn't even refered to in the manual!)

Press the right corner on this screen (the swipe down screen) to change it

Thanks, I've got to the first screen by swiping down, but I can't proceed further as it seems I need to "log in with Volkswagen ID"
Is this the case please?

Have you coded your keys to the media unit ?
Each key can be coded, for we connect.
It could be that, although it's a while ago now that we set ours up. You are then able to set a pin code to set the unit.
You should be able to slide your finger down the very top middle of the screen to access the 4 different privacy settings. If its on max you won't get updates.

Thanks for the help guys.

No I haven't coded my keys. Why should I? (the message has only recently appeared anyway)

The manual goes on about We Connect, but I don't understand the relevance to be honest. I understand the different security levels from the manual though (about the only thing it is clear on in several pages on "security")

Why should I now have to do some actions which were never requested in the past? (nor were they on my previous 2018 Polo for that matter)

I would code 1 key and see if this solves it. There`s been a few updates for ours. And I would say they are beneficial for the unit- probably glitches we`ve all been complaining about :)
On ours, with we connect, it can tell you where the vehicle is etc
Garage should have known this mind ...
