Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
Hi there, I'm Joske Blankenberg, living in South Africa.
First of all I would like to thank everyone on this forum for the love they have for their vehicles, even though it doesn't come cheap
It inspired me to transform my ride to the best of my ability.
I drive a Polo 6R Tdi 1.6 and have changed a lot, even the engine. I converted the car completely to MQB (All Modules). Had some tough times finding parts in South Africa, but its done and fully working.
Lets start by giving a overview of the mods done:
Exterior
WRC Front Bumper (aftermarket)
6C Gti rims 17"
FK Coilovers
6C Gti Side Skirts (OEM)
6C Gti door sill stickers (OEM)
6R Gti rear Bumper
Aftermarket roof spoiler
6C Gti taillights
6C Led headlights
Interior
6C Dashboard
Black Pillar trims
Piano Black vent trim
6C Gti Cluster
6C Gti Pedals
Engine
Polo 6C Gti 1.8t EA888 Engine
IS20 Turbo
6C dq200 DSG MQB
Front Mount Intercooler
With all that said, not much mods has been done.
I have learned a lot on this forum and i'm glad to be a part of it.

I would think just guying a 6C GTI might have been cheaper and less effort.
That said, if you're ever in the Table View area, swing by and give me a test drive.

Impressive, nice job. Would be nice to see some more of your transformation, it might be very helpful to others as well.

Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
I will post more pics, and do a complete write up of the process. The car had issues with the injectors, mainly due to the high mileage (433000km without opening the tdi), so it was standing for a while and thats when I bit the bullet. I could just buy a 6C gti yes but then I had to fix the tdi engine to sell the car, which was not one of my options.

Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
I had a look at the G7 gti dq250 mqb gearbox wiring, theres wires going to the ecu but the no indication on pin assignment at the ecu plug, can anyone maybe help me figuring out where the wires go?

this is for golf mk6, I think golf mk7 will be the same gearbox with perhaps MQB software.

Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
Hi iichel, thanks for your reply, the ecu of the G6 have T94/T60 plugs, the G7 and 6C gti have T105/T91, I checked the physical ecu just now the part number is 06K 907 425B, same between 6C Gti and Golf 7 Gti. Attached is the wiring diagram of the J623 module. When I go into the dual clutch section it shows T94(J623) but when I go to Engine Control Unit it shows T91(J623). Its very confusing.

Yeah, fixing these things is some times just not worth the money compared to fitting a complete engine.JoskeBlankenberg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 12:46 pm I will post more pics, and do a complete write up of the process. Definitely keen on seeing more photos and details on the process.
Some things are going on with my 1.2tsi engine and I'm dreading the day I need to replace or fix it. These little engines are R30K! Will decide at end of the year if I'm going to ditch it for a golf instead.

faulty injectors = larger injector upgrade

T20e/7 (neutral signal) goes via T14/13 coupling to T105/8 (see 60/25 scheme for i.e. 2.0 TFSI engine in Golf mk7)JoskeBlankenberg wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 5:31 pm Hi iichel, thanks for your reply, the ecu of the G6 have T94/T60 plugs, the G7 and 6C gti have T105/T91, I checked the physical ecu just now the part number is 06K 907 425B, same between 6C Gti and Golf 7 Gti. Re: Polo 6R PQ25 to MQB
I'm sorry I was mistaken. You need T20/17 that will go to T91/62 (starter inhibitor/neutral).
