Hi, im new here and having looked around wasn't able to find the information i need.

After going to a VW garage to diagnose a issue i was having with the Infotainment system in my 2014 Polo blue-motion i was quoted £5000 to replace the "5f" module. They insisted this was not the unit in the glove box and was located behind the dash but after some research i can only find references to the 5f module being the glove box unit (found 1 source saying it was a canbus gateway but wasn't able to confirm if this was for my model car).

Basically my question is, what and where is the 5f module.

Part number for the canbus gateway i found: 7N0 907 530 BC, any one able to confirm if this is for my car?

Error i was experiencing: flashing blue and red saying it needs an emergency download/no update found

thanks in advance.

No your gateway will be a 6C0... number.
The 5F unit is indeed located on the bottom of your glove box compartment.

does the 6c actually have a gateway? i've looked everywhere and to me it looks like it's built into the BCM

and yes the 5f is the unit in the glovebox only this unit needs changing normally, these can be had 2nd hand fully programmed to just drop in for a lot less than vw charge

Yes the Polo 6C will indeed feature an internal gateway inside the BCm
