72 plate polo 1.0tsi bangs loud from the front when reversing slowly.
Anyone had this ? Cars going back in on Wednesday

Manual or Auto?

Manual. It’s when I’m turning slightly and reversing and press brake. It’s quite a loud bang from the drivers side front area.

Hopefully they fix it quicker than mine. Not seen my car since Thursday morning and no idea when I’ll see it again currently

Is it a clunking rather than banging noise?

When I first got my previous generation Polo GTI back in 2016 when it was new, I used to experience a clunking noise from the front brakes when braking after reversing slowly. The noise was attributed to (normal) free movement of the brake pads in the brake calipers and stopped after a few weeks of use. I seem to remember there were other owners on the forum who also experienced the same clunking noise and for them, it also stopped after a few weeks.

I guess yours is doing the same ?

Yeah I’d say its a Loud clunk I did wonder maybe a calliper sticking or something anyhow it’s going In on Thursday. It’s also going in because the throttle is very jerky when pressing it or taking foot of it only way to describe it is like slop
In the drive.

My issue is connectivity related, just hope your garage is more competent. Only saving grace is I have a courtesy car.

Oh man yeah I hope they get it sorted. Must admit I’m having a few issues with mine which is a slight concern it’s only 3 weeks old. Having never owned A new car I don’t know if this is normal or just bad luck.
