Hi all, new patron and need some help please.

2016 polo gti stop start doesn't work. I changed the battery and still nothing. I had the car into a VW independent and they've told me that the meter on the high pressure fuel pump has an intermittent problem. They've told me I need a new one and it comes with the pump and not as a separate item, it's also 6hr labour, does this sound correct? I had hoped that the meter could he replaced with out the pump.

Any advice would he welcome.

Thank you.

unfortunately the fuel metering valve is part of the pump and not separate.

If it was me i'd buy a second hand pump (lots of people change to the 2.0 pump when tuning, myself included) so there are good second hand parts available.

to do the job via vw handbook probably is 6hrs as it would involve removing the inlet manifold but it can be done in about 30 mins if just want to get it changed without removing the inlet manifold.

the only hard part is the 17mm nut on the high pressure line on the high pressure fuel rail
